The second oldest release of the 8 single cask releases from Glenallachie. This 28 year old whisky was distilled in 1990 and bottled at cask strength with just 122 bottles being produced.
A lovely complex nose, very layered and rich with honey and wax, apricots and bananas dipped in milk chocolate and a hint of old leather. The palate is full of golden pastry, lots of bready yeastiness and a slight charred bitterness to balance. The finish is long but less sweet, in fact there's a spiciness that balances out the rich palate quite nicely.
