Distilled on 12 February 2014 and bottled on 27 July 2021 at 57.3% ABV, this 7-year-old Glen Elgin was released by Fable Whisky as part of the illustrated Fable Series – Piper, Chapter 7. The whisky was drawn from a single hogshead (cask #800406) and yielded 296 bottles.
The Fable series pairs single cask whiskies with chapters of an illustrated story titled “The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay,” with each bottling representing a different character or moment in the tale.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Sweet pear and tropical hints with banana and almond notes are contrasted with subtle herbs ofthyme and rosemary. With water added – packed with fresh green notes of pear, cardamom, waxy with a prickly peppery note anise.
Palate
Toasted brioche, Granny Smith apple and a twist green pepper. Toasted oak lingers in the background.
Finish
Dry and balanced. Digestive biscuit, honey, malty, and salted caramel popcorn. Faint spiciness developing nutmeg and brown sugar.
