Distilled on 12 February 2014 and bottled on 27 July 2021 at 57.3% ABV, this 7-year-old Glen Elgin was released by Fable Whisky as part of the illustrated Fable Series – Piper, Chapter 7. The whisky was drawn from a single hogshead (cask #800406) and yielded 296 bottles.
The Fable series pairs single cask whiskies with chapters of an illustrated story titled “The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay,” with each bottling representing a different character or moment in the tale.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery undertones and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Sweet pear and tropical fruit with banana and almond notes, framed by thyme and rosemary. Upon adding water, fresh green pear notes rise, with cardamom, a waxy edge and a prickly peppery anise.
Palate
Toasted brioche, Granny Smith apple and a twist green pepper. Toasted oak lingers in the background.
Finish
Dry and balanced, the finish lingers with digestive biscuit, honeyed malt and salted caramel popcorn. A faint spice blossoms—nutmeg and brown sugar—leaving a warm, lingering fade.
