Distilled on 10 December 2009 and bottled on 27 July 2021 at 56.3% ABV, this 12-year-old Blair Athol was released by Fable Whisky as part of the illustrated Fable Series – Crows, Chapter 6. The whisky was drawn from a single oak cask (cask #304772) and yielded 307 bottles.
The Fable series pairs single cask whiskies with chapters of an illustrated story titled “The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay,” with each bottling representing a different part of the tale and featuring distinctive artwork.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper highlights and a warm mahogany glow.
Nose
Bright citrus peel and toasted gingerbread rise from the glass, with sweeter citrus unfolding into honeyed notes of cinnamon and spice.
Palate
Creamy vanilla fudge and baking spices take the lead, with jam-tart sweetness and peppery oak. A floral, grassy lift carries white peaches and grapefruit juice, while fresh mint and warm cereal biscuit notes linger.
Finish
Medium to long finish with notes of caramelised citrus, shaved oak, white pepper, honey and warming spices of cloves and burnt vanilla.
