Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with mahogany depths and a coppery glint.

Nose

Fragrant raisin and bright tangerine greet the nose, lifted by warm clove spice. Sherry richness mingles with citrus zest and a touch of toasted oak, hinting at sun-dried fruit and a refined sweetness.

Palate

Stewed forest fruits, toasted walnut and pressed apple coalesce on the palate, delivering a warm, textured sweetness with nutty, orchard-fresh notes.

Finish

A full, long finish coats the palate with ripe raspberry compote, lifted by a final note of fresh mint.

Blair Athol
(blair-ATH-oll) Blair Athol was founded in 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robertson in Pitlochry, originally opening as Aldour after the Allt Dour burn. The early distillery closed soon after, before reopening in 1825 under the Blair Athol name. It later passed through several owners, including Peter Mackenzie, before Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
