Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep golden amber with honeyed copper undertones, a warm, sunlit glow.

Nose

Rich, sweet and chewy, the nose offers apricot, figs, almonds and zingy marmalade; with a little air it opens to reveal ripe green apples and a hint of cinnamon.

Palate

A thick, full palate coats the tongue with jammy apricot and dried fruits, while a clear distillate backbone threads through stewed apples and pears.

Finish

Long, mouth-coating and warmly generous, the finish unfolds with baking spices and oak. Cinnamon-touched warmth lingers beside a subtle sweetness, as dried-fruit echoes fade into a rich, resinous glow.

Blair Athol
(blair-ATH-oll) Blair Athol was founded in 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robertson in Pitlochry, originally opening as Aldour after the Allt Dour burn. The early distillery closed soon after, before reopening in 1825 under the Blair Athol name. It later passed through several owners, including Peter Mackenzie, before Arthur Bell & Sons acquired the distillery in 1933.
