A 10 year old Single Malt from Glen Elgin. finished in a Moscatel Sherry octave casks and bottled up as part of the Darkness series. The Darkness range is about well-sherried whiskies, and the small, specially-coopered octave casks impart an added depth of rich, sherried fruit notes to the whiskies which are finished in them.
This Glen Elgin has a beautiful balance of stewed fruits, grapes, raisins and sultanas as well as more fruity citrus notes.Product Details

Aromas of stewed fruits—grape, raisin and sultana—intertwined with bright citrus zest. The Moscatel sherry finish lends honeyed sweetness, with notes of orange and apricot, and a subtle touch of fig, all framed by gentle oak spice.

Luxuriously sherried and full-bodied, the palate unfolds with stewed fruits—grapes, raisins, and sultanas—woven with bright citrus zest. Rich Moscatel sweetness adds depth and a syrupy texture, supported by creamy oak. Finishes long and warm, with lingering fruit marmalade and a touch of spice.

An enduring finish carried by Moscatel sherry sweetness from the octave casks. It unfolds with stewed grape, raisin and sultana, lifted by bright citrus zest, then settles into a warm, spicy fade. A refined, sherried glow that lingers long and velvet-soft on the palate.
