Tasting Notes

Nose

Luxuriously sherried on the nose, dark dried plums, raisins and fig mingle with toffee, treacle and cocoa. Warming spice—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—drifts over polished oak, with hints of almond and espresso, signaling a velvet Pedro Ximenez finish.

Palate

Velvet-rich and full-bodied, this Benrinnes delivers dark fruit density—ripe fig, prune and raisin—intertwined with silky treacle and orange zest. Subtle cocoa and espresso notes emerge as spice and oak weave a creamy, luxurious mouthfeel. The Pedro Ximénez finish coats the palate with luscious sweetness, balanced by refined tannins and a warming, lingering finish.

(ben-RIN-is) Benrinnes was first established in 1826 by Peter MacKenzie at Whitehouse Farm near Aberlour, on the lower slopes of Ben Rinnes. The original distillery was destroyed by flooding in 1829, with a new site later developed nearby. After early ownership changes, David Edward took over in 1864, and the distillery was sold to John Dewar & Sons in 1922 before becoming part of DCL three years later. It is now owned by Diageo.
