The Macbeth Series by Livingstone is a Scotch Whisky collection selected and bottled by Elixir distillers. This remarkable collection is presented with character notes by renowned whisky writer David Broom, and illustrations by one of Europe's most famous illustrators, Sir Quentin Blake.
In a career spanning seven decades, Sir Quentin Blake has illustrated over 300 books including classic works by Roald Dahl such as The BFG, Matilda, and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. He rarely produces any commercial illustration and his work is highly collectable.
The Soldier is one of ten characterful whiskies in The Household series. Distilled at Benrinnes, this single malt has been exclusively matured in refill sherry butts.

“Ever visible, as you travel around Speyside, is Ben Rinnes. At its base, on the north side of the mountain,Benrinnes is the workhorse distillery of the same name. The spirit produced there, using traditional worm tub condensers, is sturdy and full. For the Soldier this powerful spirit has been matured in refill sherry butts, accentuating the meaty, weighty character of the make and adding layers of currants and dried oregano.”.

Dark, velvety nose with a sturdy, meaty core. Currants and prune weave with dried oregano, while refill sherry butts lend warming sweetness, leather and toasted oak. Subtle spice threads through, underscoring Benrinnes’ worm-tub backbone and a savory, robust depth.
Palate
Powerful, full-bodied with a weighty, meaty core. Dark currants and fig mingle with savory hints of dried oregano, delivering a herbaceous lift. Sherry butt influence brings caramel, cocoa and oak spice, while the 53.5% ABV sustains a long, warming finish.
Finish
Long and savory, the finish unfolds with meaty sherry depth, revealing currants and dried oregano that echo into a warm, cocoa-kissed oak. Spicy whispers linger, leaving a resinous, generous farewell.
