This 2013 Benrinnes comes from single cask #314284 and was bottled in 2023 at 9 years old. Matured in a hogshead and bottled at a natural strength of 60.4% ABV, the cask yielded 281 bottles.
A hogshead like this gives the spirit room to develop without dominating it, which suits a distillate like Benrinnes well. The result should be a weighty, characterful whisky, where orchard fruit, malt sweetness and spice are given plenty of space, backed by a firm structure from the cask and the added intensity of natural strength bottling.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Bitter tangerine peel, dark chocolate, cold brew coffee, yeast, almost meaty with some slightly tart white wine. Pencil shavings, toasted oak and spices on the back end - cinnamon.
Palate
Benrinnes carries weight and the nutty style is really clear on the palate. Fruit notes dance around the savoury qualities providing great contrasts and complexities.
Finish
A touch of spiced oak in the back. A medium finish with hints of tropical fruit and rich warm malty tones.
