Tomnaverie Stone Circle is a beautifully preserved recumbent stone circle in Aberdeenshire, dating back around 4,000 years to the Bronze Age. Like other circles of its kind, it features a large flat stone laid horizontally between two flanking uprights, believed to have been used for astronomical or ceremonial purposes. Perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, it is one of the most atmospheric prehistoric sites in northeast Scotland.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-red highlights and a mahogany edge, a warm, sherry-kissed hue that radiates from the glass.
Nose
Dark-fruit and nutty richness greet the glass: fig, raisin and burnt sugar mingle with orange zest, vanilla and polished oak. A generous sherry lift blankets cocoa, toasted almond and toffee, while cinnamon and clove threads weave through the aroma. Subtle leather and a whisper of tobacco echo the Stone Circle’s ancient calm.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied palate with dried fig and raisin, orange zest and toffee. Sherry depth threads dark chocolate, almond and warm spices (cinnamon, clove) through the malt. Velvety tannins support a long, luxurious finish—nutty with a subtle red-fruit lift and lingering spice.
Finish
Long and richly sherried, the finish lingers with raisin, fig and dark chocolate, threaded with toasted almond. Cinnamon and clove drift through, while a kiss of orange zest keeps it bright. Velvet oak settles into a warm, cocoa-tinted fade that lingers gracefully.
