Tasting Notes

Nose

Big, tangy and earthy, this nose bursts with zesty orange peel and thick marmalade, intertwined with dark chocolate-coated raisins, juicy black cherries, and ribbons of manuka honey and maple syrup.

Palate

Opulent waves of manuka honey, oats and toffee caress the palate, balanced by orange zest and raisins with a hint of wood spice. A splash of water softens the edge, bringing stewed apples and pears to the fore for a smoother, fruitier finish.

Finish

Gentle and juicy, ending on cloves, cinnamon and apples.

Benrinnes
(ben-RIN-is) Benrinnes was first established in 1826 by Peter MacKenzie at Whitehouse Farm near Aberlour, on the lower slopes of Ben Rinnes. The original distillery was destroyed by flooding in 1829, with a new site later developed nearby. After early ownership changes, David Edward took over in 1864, and the distillery was sold to John Dewar & Sons in 1922 before becoming part of DCL three years later. It is now owned by Diageo.
