A 10 year old offering from the lesser known Dailuaine distillery that has only a handfull official releases.
A Speyside malt with great charm and lends itself very well to Sherry cask maturation and one that deserves to have a higher profile.
Really opens up with a drop of water, a really bold fruited/cakey offering from Dailuaine.
Aged in a single Sherry Hogshead that yielded just 307 bottles.
Distilled 13/11/2007 and bottled at natural cask strength 55.6% ABV.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with coppery highlights and a warm mahogany depth.
Nose
Banana toffee mingles with gingersnaps, fig confit, and plum pudding with brandy butter. Stewed plums and damsons, walnut cake, and dried fruit mingle with nutty oloroso sherry wood, delivering a warm, inviting nose with sherried depth.
Palate
A thick and dense (cakey) delivery with brown toast with thick cut blood orange marmalade, stewed red and black stoned fruit, nutty-praline-chestnut puree like notes, blackcurrant cordial, brandy butter and gingercake.
Finish
The finish lingers with coffee and walnut cake, a bounty of black and dried fruits, and warming baking spices, finishing on a lozenge-like sweetness that persists with refined, polished complexity.
