Dailuaine Flora & Fauna Single Malt Scotch Whisky 16 Year Old
In stock
Flora and Fauna, nicknamed by the late whisky writer, Michael Jackson, was a themed series of distillery only single malt whisky releases. Each distillery was given a particular creature as its symbol, which is elegantly displayed on each bottle's beautiful label.
A complicated single malt whisky, full and sweet, yet also citric-fresh, that can impress mightily. An unusual combination of freshness and richness, this 16-year-old single malt whisky has a sherried style with a sweetness and a nuttiness that you can sit and savour.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Deep and evolving, the aroma unfolds from cheddar rind and aged Madeira into a nutty, toffee-sweet core. Walnuts and lightly dusted butterscotch mingle with orange zest, hard peel and hints of over-ripe citrus. With a drop of water the rind softens to cheesecloth and damp muslin; orange brightens to lemony, candied peel. Subtle sandalwood and sweeter toffee rise, marrying freshness with maturity.
Palate
Straight, the whisky is full, sweet and warming. Reduced, the profile is similar. It retains its citric freshness, but with deeper currents, and a trace of Highland toffee.
Finish
Warming, with a light nutty aftertaste.
