This exclusive single cask bottling of The Cardrona Single Malt Whisky “Growing Wings” is matured in a Mt Difficulty ex-Pinot Noir cask for five years and bottled at natural cask strength. On the nose, honeyed apricot, fig and sweet balsamic. With water the local fruits burst forward with sun-scorched nectarine, fresh strawberries, and thick clotted cream.

Nose

On the nose, honeyed apricot and ripe fig mingle with a sweet balsamic lift. With a splash of water, sun-warmed nectarine and fresh strawberries emerge, cloaked in thick clotted cream for a creamy, orchard-brimming aroma.

Cardrona was founded by Desiree Reid, who began studying distillation in 2011 before selling her farming business and moving to Wānaka in 2013. The distillery was built in the Cardrona Valley, in New Zealand’s Crown Range, with the first spirit running on 23 October 2015 and the first cask laid on 5 November that year.
