Signature toffee spirit encrusted by sweet, buttery pear tarte tatin. Opens with water.

Colour

Deep golden amber with honeyed highlights and a warm copper glow.

Nose

Rich toffee and vanilla rise from the glass, layered with buttery pear tarte tatin—caramelized fruit folded into warm pastry. Subtle Bourbon oak lends spice and lift, with a delicate citrus nuance that keeps the bouquet poised and inviting.

Palate

Toffee-forward with vanilla-caramel and sweet, buttery pear tarte tatin. A full, velvety mouthfeel at cask strength, propelled by ex-Bourbon oak—warm spice, ripe fruit and a honeyed sweetness. Long, orchard-fruited finish with lingering caramel and a gentle, rounded spice.

Finish

Long and luxurious, this finish unfolds with toffee sweetness and a satin of buttery pear tarte tatin that lingers on the palate. Vanilla and Bourbon-spice emerge, adding warmth as the oak dries gracefully, leaving a resonant, inviting glow.

Cardrona
Cardrona was founded by Desiree Reid, who began studying distillation in 2011 before selling her farming business and moving to Wānaka in 2013. The distillery was built in the Cardrona Valley, in New Zealand’s Crown Range, with the first spirit running on 23 October 2015 and the first cask laid on 5 November that year.
