Cask Strength Single Cask Distillery Bottling

Filled on 19 April 2018, this Cardrona single malt was matured in a 230-litre Quercus Robur ex-Otago Pinot Noir cask before being hand bottled on 11 March 2025 at 52% ABV. Rich berry fruit and sun-scorched nectarine are joined by fig, pecan pie, floral honey and clotted cream, showing the distinctive influence of Central Otago wine maturation. Only 343 bottles were produced, each presented with Cardrona’s wooden display frame.

Cardrona was founded by Desiree Reid, who began studying distillation in 2011 before selling her farming business and moving to Wānaka in 2013. The distillery was built in the Cardrona Valley, in New Zealand’s Crown Range, with the first spirit running on 23 October 2015 and the first cask laid on 5 November that year.
