Willowbank was the most southerly distillery in the world, producing highly regarded Milford and Lammerlaw Single Malt Whisky. The distillery produced both malt and grain producing such popular whiskies as Wilsons and 45 South. The distillery closed in 1997, and stocks must be surely getting scarcer these days.
This release has been matured in ex-red wine casks which bring intense fruit aromas of blackberry and other dark fruits are combining with dark chocolate, tobacco and wood.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Dense dark amber with ruby-mahogany depth and a warm wine-kissed glow.
Nose
Deliciously fruity, with blackberry and blackcurrant at the fore, accented by leather, dark chocolate, and earthy, woody rancio.
Palate
On the palate this is wine-kissed and powerful: blackberry and blackcurrant surge, tempered by velvety tannins. Dark chocolate and tobacco mingle with leather and oak, a rancio lift underpinning the wine influence. Full-bodied and creamy, it delivers a warm, long finish of spice and red-fruit sweetness fading to toasted wood.
Finish
Wine-driven and long, the finish lingers with blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, wrapped in velvety tannins and oak. Dark chocolate, leather and tobacco weave through, slowly fading into warm, red-wine depth.
