Glen Ord That Boutique-y Whisky Company Batch #1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 20 Year Old
In stock
First ever batch of That Boutique-y Whisky Company Glen Ord - aged for 20 years.
The label features the brass plaque of a Porteus malt mill, one of which you’ll find at Glen Ord that also produces a lot of the malted barley for the other Diageo owned distilleries.
There's also a lower plaque that reads “Build ‘em right first time, and you’ll never go out of business”. This motto unfortunately turned out not to be true, as the mills were in fact so well made that no one ever needed to buy another one. The company that made them subsequently went out of business.
Batch 1 is a release of 293 bottles.
With most of Glen ord single malt bottled as "The Singleton of Glen Ord" and destined for the non UK market this is a great chance to try a small batch and well aged Glen Ord that displays classic distillery character.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Fruit loaf dough with waxy candied peel, freshly polished wood, lemongrass, unripe pear and touches of leafy and herbal notes.
Palate
Cereal bars and toasted oats, with lemon thyme honey, mixed peel, confrence pear and gooseberry fool. That distinct green fruit nose from the nose makes an appearance mid palate (rhubarb and angelica) then waxyness and peppery vanilla emerge late on.
Finish
More green fruit and ginger biscuits with boiled barley sugar sweets. The peppery and vanilla oak lingers along with waxy mixed peel.
