Glen Ord That Boutique-y Whisky Company Batch #1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 20 Year Old
In stock
First ever batch of That Boutique-y Whisky Company Glen Ord - aged for 20 years.
The label features the brass plaque of a Porteus malt mill, one of which you’ll find at Glen Ord that also produces a lot of the malted barley for the other Diageo owned distilleries.
There's also a lower plaque that reads “Build ‘em right first time, and you’ll never go out of business”. This motto unfortunately turned out not to be true, as the mills were in fact so well made that no one ever needed to buy another one. The company that made them subsequently went out of business.
Batch 1 is a release of 293 bottles.
With most of Glen ord single malt bottled as "The Singleton of Glen Ord" and destined for the non UK market this is a great chance to try a small batch and well aged Glen Ord that displays classic distillery character.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep sunlit amber with copper-bronze hues and a whisper of mahogany
Nose
Inviting nose of fruit loaf dough with waxy candied peel, polished wood and a bright note of lemongrass. Unripe pear threads through leafy herbal hints, adding a crisp, resinous edge that speaks to Glen Ord’s classic distillery character.
Palate
On the palate, cereals and toasted oats meet lemon thyme honey, bright mixed peel, conference pear and gooseberry fool. A mid-palate lift of green fruit—rhubarb and angelica—echoes the nose, giving way to waxy textures and a peppered vanilla finish.
Finish
Green fruit persists into a lively finish, with ginger biscuits and boiled barley sugar. Peppery vanilla oak lingers, woven with a waxy mixed peel that slowly fades to a refined, enduring warmth.
