Colour
Golden amber with warm copper undertones.
Nose
Dry overall, the gentle nose gives a vinous first impression, backed by spicy, woody notes of oak shavings and beech. Alluring aromas of tart red berry fruit and creamy vanilla spread among them, and a hint of wax appears in the development. A little water softens the nose and relaxes the aroma, without great alteration.
Palate
Ultra-smooth, mouth-filling, with a lively core of barley-sugar sweetness brightened by a pinch of salt. That sweetness sharpens to tart notes of gooseberry and crisp grape. At reduced strength, tartness softens, yet the appetising spicy heat endures, leaving a sultry, nuanced warmth.
Finish
Lengthy and palate-drying, pepper-heat lingers in a final kiss of silken spice. With a splash of water, sweetness emerges, leaving a delicate fondant note lingering in the aftertaste.
