Cask Strength Distillery Bottling

A limited edition Tobermory that was matured in refill hogsheads, before being finished in Sherry butts for 22 months. The result is a richer, sweeter expression of Tobermory with a syrupy, luxurious mouthfeel, and flavours of dried fruit, honey, chocolate, and spice.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery edges, a honeyed, mahogany-tinged glow that speaks of its sherry finish.

Nose

Sherry-rich nose with sun-dried figs and raisins, drizzled honey and toffee, and dark chocolate. Subtle spice threads through toasted almond and a whisper of oak, unfolding a syrupy, luxurious perfume that heralds the 22-month Sherry butt finish.

Palate

Luxuriously syrupy on the palate, this Tobermory coats the mouth with honeyed sweetness and a velvety richness. Dried fruit, raisins and dark chocolate unfold with warm spice, while toasted almond and a sherry-kissed finish linger long.

Finish

Sherry-forward and sumptuously long, the finish coats the palate in syrupy sweetness: dried fruit, honey and dark chocolate, with gentle spice that lingers, warming the mouth and fading to a refined, nutty afterglow.
