A cracking indie bottling of Bladnoch Single Malt, a revitalised Lowland distillery that has been making great strides in the last couple of years. This is a lovely, well aged example from Gordon and Macphail, matureed in a refill American Hogshead (Cask No 5803) and great news, it's also bottled at cask strength. One of only 199 bottles.

Colour
Deep amber with honey-gold highlights and a coppery glint.
Nose
Flashes of lavender oil give way to a lush medley of fruit—kiwi, pear, mango and ripe banana—then butter shortbread with apricot jam, blossoming into dried meadow flowers.
Palate
Delicate and refined, with dark chocolate-coated lime candy giving way to drying cocoa powder. Green apple and vibrant citrus lift the smooth toffee undertones.
Finish
Balanced and fruit-forward to the finish, with subtle toasted malt and a gentle touch of wood.
