Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2020, this 29-year-old Bladnoch was released by Wemyss Malts as part of their single cask range. Matured in a bourbon barrel for nearly three decades, the cask yielded 198 bottles, bottled at 46% ABV. As with other Wemyss releases, the name “Coconut Raspberry Snowball” reflects the distinctive flavour profile discovered in the cask.
Bladnoch Distillery, located in the Lowlands near Wigtown, is one of Scotland’s oldest privately founded distilleries, dating back to 1817. Known for producing a lighter and more delicate style of whisky, long maturation in bourbon casks often enhances notes of vanilla, coconut and soft orchard fruit in the spirit.

Colour
Pale straw gold with a bright, sunlit glow and a delicate honey-tinged edge.
Nose
Richly aromatic with rancio-like complexity of overripe tropical fruit, earthy wood and a faint petrolic undertone. Coconut, vanilla and wood shavings emerge from the cask, hinting at a creamy, tropical sweetness.
Palate
Bourbon-matured richness drives coconut and vanilla, supported by warm wood spices and a creamy, velvety texture. Raspberry-like esters and ripe tropical fruit emerge after a moment, adding a dessert-wine sweetness woven through the spirit. The finish coats with coconut and subtle cherry, carried by oak and spice into a soft, lingering warmth.

A creamy chocolate embrace with brandy snaps, coconut and ripe cherries lingering in a medium-length finish.
