The fifth small-batch release release from Wolfburn, Batch 204 was matured for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels, and then finished for six months in fresh Madeira hogsheads. These casks produced just 5800 bottles: a rich, sweet, and thoroughly easy-going whisky.
(WOLF-burn) Wolfburn takes its name from a historic distillery founded in 1821 by William Smith on the outskirts of Thurso, where it quickly became the largest distillery in Caithness. The original site later fell silent and was eventually left in ruins, but the name returned when the modern Wolfburn Distillery was built nearby and spirit began flowing again on Burns Night, 25 January 2013.
