Wolfburn 200th Anniversary Edition Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
In stock
In light of the significance of their 200th anniversary, Wolfburn have selected some of the very best casks: first-fill Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads, laid down some six years ago, and to cap such a special dram the producers have added some Whisky from their very first cask, filled back in January 2013. The design of the label and box is a celebration of the distillery's Caithness heritage, consisting of 1821 sequentially numbered bottles. The Whisky inside is a rare treat: a true gem of a Highland Single Malt. Here’s to the next 200 years!
Aromas of figs and apricots mix with soft oak tones. Oloroso sherry warmth comes gently to the fore. The depth of flavour is tremendous. Honey-laced porridge meets stewed apples and sultanas. Wolfburn’s trademark smooth spirit brings with it a touch of heat while soft oak spices (cinnamon, cloves and ginger) are also present, all overlaid by a wonderful sweetness. The finish does not disappoint; dried fruit and caramel flavours remain to the end and are neatly overlaid with hints of lingering oak smoke.
