Tasting Notes

Colour

Dark amber with coppery-russet reflections and a burnished mahogany glow.

Nose

Sherry sweetness unfurls into demerara sugar and heather honey, with delicate hints of apple blossom.

Palate

Dried fruit prevails on the palate, with apple, pear and gooseberries giving a bright, fruity core. Honey and butterscotch lend sweetness that’s tempered by light spices: cloves and cinnamon. A beautiful, creamy texture coats the mouth, delivering immense depth and a luxurious, lasting richness.

Finish

An exceptionally long finish, lingering beyond expectation as honey and sherry slowly fade to a warm, delicate echo. A truly lovely dram.

Wolfburn
(WOLF-burn) Wolfburn takes its name from a historic distillery founded in 1821 by William Smith on the outskirts of Thurso, where it quickly became the largest distillery in Caithness. The original site later fell silent and was eventually left in ruins, but the name returned when the modern Wolfburn Distillery was built nearby and spirit began flowing again on Burns Night, 25 January 2013.
