Released in 2015 toCommemorate the 50th anniversary of Tomintoul Distillery. Individual casks have been chosen to represent the flavours from 50 years of craftsmanship at the distillery. Master Distiller, Robert Fleming, has personally selected casks from 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2005.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Radiant golden amber with coppery undertones, a sunlit hue hinting at sherry-aged depth.

Nose

Classically creamy Speyside aromas envelop the senses, with soft custard and malt underpinning bright hints of banana skin, finished by a peppery, mace-like spice.

Palate

Clean, creamy barley-malt with gentle toffee sweetness, balanced by soft oaky spice.

Finish

An enduring finish of honeyed sweetness that lingers, finally unfolding into a warm nutmeg finale.

Tomintoul
(TOM-in-tool) Tomintoul was founded in 1964 by the Glasgow whisky brokers Hay & MacLeod and W&S Strong, with production beginning in 1965 near the village of Tomintoul in Speyside. The distillery was part of the post-war expansion of Scotch whisky, built to meet growing demand for malt, and its site was chosen close to the Ballantruan Spring in the Cairngorms. Ownership later passed through Whyte & Mackay, before Angus Dundee Distillers bought Tomintoul in 2000.
