The Antiquary Bordeaux Wine Cask Matured Whisky 15 Year Old · 2006 Vintage
Out of stock
This rare and limited release of just 6000 bottles pays homage to The Anitiquary's founders, John and William Hardie. It has been crafted from Scotland's most outstanding malt and grain whiskies, all of which have been matured for over fifteen years.
On the nose there are aromas of fresh, juicy red fruits like gala apple, red grape and pomegranate to the fore. The high malt content of this blend is clear with notes of sweet barley and honey. In time these fresh sweet notes give way to a pronounced cinnamon spice.
The fresh fruit on the nose continues onto the palate and becomes slightly darker, with flavours of fresh plum and cherry. This is followed by citrus, akin to candied orange peel, emerges before a final pinch of cinnamon.
The finish is clean with continued flavours of apple and grape.
