Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a sherry-darkened mahogany edge.
Nose
Classic coastal-maritime aromas with a Talisker salt-and-pepper edge: smoked kippers on peat, marmalade and salted caramel, rich, sooty tar and dried fruit. Gingerbread, honeycomb and toasted caraway weave warmth, while a maritime breeze hints at rugged coastlines and the distillery’s signature smoke.
Palate
Rich dark fruit, raisin and mince-pie filling mingle with peppery-aromatic wood smoke, while a crunchy peanut-buttery mouthfeel carries marmalade notes. Salted sourdough toast, fennel and salted smoked fish emerge on a fat, oily, full-bodied palate.
Finish
An oily, full-bodied finish that lingers with dark fruit—sherry-drenched raisins and a whisky-tea loaf sweetness—alongside smoked kippers and dark marmalade. Sooty, tarry smoke, fennel and a touch of crunchy peanut butter drift in for a long, peppery finale.
