Talisker Expedition Oak Series - The Atlantic Challenge Single Malt Scotch Whisky 43 Year Old
Out of stock
The Xpedition Oak series is a new adventure entirely: a Whisky shaped by nature. The series was born to celebrate wild Whisky making with a collection of rare aged Single Malts that have been shaped by the natural elements. Finished in casks stressed through a journey in the wilderness to reveal a truly rare and unique Whisky.
After being aged for over 4 decades, this 43yr Xpedition Oak was finally finished in casks constructed of the staves that traversed the harsh and beautiful elements of the Atlantic with wild spirit James Aiken – this is their finest expression of Made by the Sea to date.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold sheen and mahogany edges.
Nose
Mellow and slightly spicy, with a fruity top note of bruised apple and a smooth, aromatic hint of wax. Beneath, rich layers unfold: canvas and varnished wood mingle with maritime sea-air and warm sand, swirling above a faintly smoky, waxy base.
Palate
Silky and generous, a juicy opening with sweet, rich depth and a briny sea-salt edge. Maritime wax and sun-warmed wood mingle, then Talisker’s peppery warmth sweeps in, gently drying the palate. The flavours flow in smooth, lush layers—smoke, sweetness and mineral bite—carrying to a long, warming finish that lingers with marine warmth.
Finish
Extremely long finish, a sweet chili-pepper warmth that suffuses the palate, carried by maritime salt and peppery spice, slowly fading into a refined, waxy afterglow.
