A surge of warmth rises through the current, radiating a sweet, charred undertone. The crash of sea-salt spray against the ship’s bow relights the fire of exploration in determined sailors. Against an unforgiving sea the caravel, an iconic Portuguese sea vessel, forges on, braving harsh elements to reach the farthest corners of the earth.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Gilded amber with ruby facets and tawny edges, a warm, sunset-hued glow that glints through the glass.
Nose
Mellow and drying, with a touch of spice as it settles. Top notes of sticky malt loaf, sultanas and dates lead the way, fading to a maritime core of clean sea air, sea salt and sand dunes. Mineral chalk anchors the profile, with a subtle winey hint from macerated grape skins. A whisper of peat smoke lingers and grows smokier when water is added.
Palate
Creamy-smooth on the palate, opening with lightly sweet fruit before a bold wave of salt. Peppery and gunpowder-smoky, the profile remains powerful, with water heightening the salinity and enhancing the mouth-coating texture.
Finish
Long, spicy finish with a signature chilli pepper bite that lingers, tapering to a mouth-cooling Sichuan pepper.
