Cask Strength Distillery Bottling

A liquid interpretation of freshly baked Danish rye bread. Stauning Rye is a different kind of rye Whisky; the combination of malted rye and barley and pot still distillation makes this a smooth, fruity and full-bodied Whisky with a lingering finish.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich golden amber with coppery highlights and a warm honey glow.

Nose

Freshly baked rye bread, bright wine gums and a subtle peppery lift, creating an inviting, multi-layered aroma.

Palate

A gentle, fruity palate unfolds with dried fruit and ripe cherry, accented by peppery oak. Vanilla sweetness and bright citrus peels weave through the mid-palate, delivering a balanced, smooth profile with a lingering, elegant finish.

Finish

Long, smooth and luscious, this finish carries fruit-forward sweetness with a whisper of vanilla and citrus, lingering softly as warmth remains.

Stauning
Stauning was founded in 2005 on Denmark’s west coast by nine friends from outside the drinks industry, who began with two small pot stills in an old butcher’s shop in the village of Stauning. A major step followed in 2018, when the distillery opened its purpose-built new site, reflecting how far the project had grown from its early experimental beginnings.
