Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep mahogany amber with copper-bronze reflections and a warm ruby edge, a sherry-kissed glow that hints at aging in wood.
Nose
Sherried and sultry, this St. Magdalene unfurls ripe red fruit—cherry, damson, and raisin—woven with toasted almond, fig, and cocoa. Cinnamon and clove rise with leather and antique oak, while a bright whisper of orange zest keeps the aroma lively. Rich, refined and old-world, it hints at Christmas cake sweetness and velvety maturity.
Palate
Silky and refined on the palate, this 16-year-old Lowland unfolds a sherried warmth with dried fruit—raisin, fig and prune—tied to toffee, almond and subtle cocoa. Ginger and nutmeg spice weave through polished oak, delivering balance and depth. The finish is long, elegant, and softly warming, with persistent fruit and a graceful, lightly oaked echo.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish of dark fig and plum, wrapped in rich sherry sweetness with hints of cacao and orange zest. A final kiss of warming spice and polished oak lingers, leaving a cocoa-tinted, refined afterglow.
