Springbank Spirit Of Freedom Blended Scotch Whisky 30 Year Old
Out of stock
A limited edition 30 Year Old Blended Scotch crafted by J&A Mitcell owners of the Springbank distillery. This expression has been bottled to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn 1314.
Only 2014 bottles are in existence and is a blend of 75% malt and 25% grain.
I would guess a fair amount of Springbank in this blend and one to enjoy for fans of the Campbeltown style. In the words of Mel Gibson in Braveheart "they may take my freedom but they may not take my whisky!" or something like that!

Rich copper-amber with mahogany depth and burnished gold edges.
Nose
Toffee apple and pears in syrup mingle with old wood, honeyed toast, and marmalade, with a whisper of salted caramel and coconut.

A maritime sweetness unfolds on the palate: honey-nut flapjacks and sea-salted caramel mingle with earthy brine, leather and musky oak. Subtle sandalwood spice threads through coconut and oily lime, delivering a warm, layered finish.

Waxy lime and coconut water linger with brine, followed by salted caramel, honeycomb and a whisper of sappy vanilla.
