The Local Barley is an annual release made from barley grown in or around Campbeltown. Each year a local farmer is commissioned to grow barley on our behalf to continue producing this ‘grain to glass’ limited edition.
Different farms, barley varieties, cask maturations and length of time the whisky spends in the casks from one batch to the next allow our customers a unique tasting experience every time.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with luminous copper-gold highlights and a warm mahogany edge.
Nose
Coastal peat and smoke rise from toasted barley, carried on briny sea air. Rich vanilla, crème caramel and almond join orchard fruit with notes of dried apricot. Subtle sherry warmth and spice unfold, while saline mineral undertones reinforce Campbeltown’s maritime character.
Palate
Firm coastal peat frames a robust malt core, unfolding into honeyed barley, raisin and orange zest with a gentle sherry lift. Treacle sweetness blends with toasted wood and cocoa, while a briny sea-salt finish lingers with peppery spice. Full-bodied and warming, the 57.7% ABV coats the palate with lasting depth.
Finish
Long, maritime finish lingers with briny peat and coastal salt, evolving into warm oak spice. Vanilla and cocoa tease the senses as a peppery, lingering fade carries through the final syllables.
