Tasting Notes

Colour

A rich coppery amber with mahogany undertones.

Nose

Toffee apple sweetness leads the nose, with savory Parma ham, roasted hazelnuts and silky marzipan weaving through the aroma. A warm, inviting complexity that hints at the cask-strength depth to follow.

Palate

Soft peat smoke blooms on the palate, with morello cherries and aniseed weaving through a creamy mouthfeel reminiscent of custard creams.

Finish

Coastal brine and oil unfold, balanced by salted caramel sweetness, with a persistent peat smoke that lingers.

Springbank
(SPRING-bank) The 14th distillery to be built in the region of Campbeltown, Springbank is still owned by the Mitchell family, who also own the Glengyle distillery in the same region. Springbank produces three different styles of Single Malt; Hazelburn (triple distilled and non peaty) Longrow (twice distilled and heavy peat of 50-55ppm) and Springbank itself (two and a half times distilled and peated to 12-15ppm). Springbank is also one of the few distilleries that malt their own barley and bottle on site.
