Bottled in 2021 at 55.9% ABV, this Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 23 is part of the distillery’s highly sought-after limited batch series from Campbeltown.
The cask strength series was introduced in 2010 to replace the older 12-year-old 100 proof bottling and has since become one of Springbank’s most anticipated releases. Each batch varies slightly depending on the casks selected, showcasing different aspects of the distillery’s famously complex spirit.
Like all Springbank releases, it is non-chill filtered and bottled with natural colour, highlighting the oily texture and full character of this traditional Campbeltown malt.

Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights.
Nose
Peat smoke opens the nose, edged with medicinal hints and aniseed from Bourbon maturation. Rich butterscotch and toffee sweetness emerge, weaving into a creamy, nutty aroma that coats the senses.
Palate
Creamy confectionery and smooth toffee carry the palate, with sweet lemon sponge cake, cream soda and Turkish delight. Delicate peat provides a subtle smoky undertone that lingers.
Finish
A smooth finish with hints of ginger and lemon zest. The gentle peat smoke endures to round off this cask strength whisky.
