The 2019 release of Springbank 25 year old. Something of a bucket list whisky this one. For the latest release the whisky has been matured in a combination of sherry casks (60%) and rum casks (40%). Bottled at 46% abv, just 1200 bottles have been produced for this release.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a warm coppery glow.
Nose
Parma violets and rhubarb open the bouquet, followed by barbequed meats and sugar cane molasses, then tropical fruits woven with oloroso sherry notes.
Palate
Age and complexity fuse in perfect balance as sherry and rum casks meld seamlessly. On the palate, maturity unfolds with cured meat notes, bright tropical fruits, and a veil of muscat wine, all framed by coastal depth and a long, refined finish.
Finish
Unmistakably Springbank, the finish carries coastal air and earthy, musty dunnage warehouse notes, closing with a long, sugary molasses sweetness that lingers.
