Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with mahogany undertones.
Nose
Aromas of heavy peat smoke and sea-salt brine rise from the glass, fused with rich sherry sweetness. Dried fig and raisin mingle with cocoa, leather and a wisp of iodine, delivering a coastal, veteran perfume of depth and discipline.
Palate
Silky peat and maritime smoke envelope the palate, entwined with dark fruit, fig and cocoa from the sherry cask. Rich oak and vanilla mingle with a whisper of leather, while a saline Islay kiss keeps it bright. The finish is long and warming, with peat, spice and a final flourish of cacao.
Finish
A long, maritime finish of peat and ash, braided with dark fruit and cocoa. A briny edge lingers, tempered by warm spice and oaken sweetness, fading to a soft malted glow and a final whisper of smoke.
