Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
Maritime peat and sea-salt air surge from the glass, edged with iodine and a whisper of ash. The peat softens into velvety sherry fruit—prune, raisin, fig—intertwined with orange zest, dark chocolate, and toffee. Leather, toasted oak, and a hint of vanilla deepen the aroma, lending elegance and quiet intensity from a well-matured Islay cask.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied with restrained peat smoke interlaced with sherry-dark fruit, fig and raisin. Cocoa, almond and a touch of maritime salt lend depth as spice warms the palate. The finish is long and refined, echoing peat, dried fruit and a whisper of leather.
Finish
Long, maritime finish where refined peat smoke glides over sea-salted air. Sherry-inflected sweetness threads through dark chocolate, dried orange, and toasted oak, then eases into a mineral, coastal whisper. The peat lingers gracefully, leaving a final kiss of warm spice and caramelized barley.
