Meaning bowl shaped valley and founded in 1823 (the same year as Macallan) and the first to be established in what was to become the great Speyside distilling centre of Dufftown. This 10 year old Mortlach that has been hand bottled by independant bottler Douglas Laing using one refill butt.

Colour
Golden-amber with coppery highlights and a subtle mahogany-bronze depth.
Nose
Candy-shop sweetness opens to pear drops, apple sours and a lift of lemon sorbet, playful, bright and inviting.
Palate
Bright orange segments unfold on the palate, pairing with sweet toasted barley and vanilla pods to create a creamy, citrus-forward sweetness. The grainy depth adds warmth and subtle spiced notes, finishing with a lingering citrusy glow.
Finish
A medium-long finish of ripe Seville orange and tangerine, balanced by caramelised sugar, lingering with a warm citrus sweetness.
