Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Opulent and dense, the nose reveals dark fruit and sherry-soaked richness: plum, prune, and raisin mingle with toffee, burnt sugar, and espresso. Layered oak, leather, and a whisper of spice—cinnamon and clove—add depth, while polished sherry notes lend a velvety, resinous sweetness that invites the palate.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, this Mortlach coats the palate with dark fruit, raisin and fig, interwoven with toasted spice and a whisper of cocoa. Sherry richness lingers, bringing leather, nutmeg and a trace of espresso, while robust oak tannins frame a long, warming finish.
Finish
An opulent, long finish coats the palate with dark fruit—fig and plum—soft toffee and cocoa, enriched by sherried oak. Warm spice—clove and nutmeg—meets subtle leather, gradually fading into velvety sweetness and a lasting toasted-oak echo.
