"This may be a 14 year old,but it tastes a lot more mature than that-in a bar, you wouldn't ask for ID.And it is rich-actually,not so much rich as loaded, with plenty in the bank, let's say.The aging in Sherry casks certainly has led to a rather satisfying single malt."
A 14 year old Longrow which is Springbank distillery's peated malt, put together from a combination of Bourbon and Sherry casks.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich golden amber with coppery highlights and a burnished mahogany glow.
Nose
Powerful peat smoke first, then the richness of Sherry cask influence unfolds: dried fruits like fig, raisin and cherry layered with cocoa, toasted almond and orange zest. A touch of vanilla and caramel sweetness, with a sly sea-salt breeze and a whisper of leather. Complex, mature, and invitingly decadent.
Palate
Peat smoke threads a lush sherried core, with dark cherry, fig and cocoa notes, kissed by bourbon sweetness. Rich, velvety and mouth-coating, it unfolds spice and toasted almond on the mid-palate, finishing long with lingering smoke and a lifted oak presence.
Finish
A long, deliberate finish where coastal peat threads through sherry-warmed sweetness. The smoke lingers with dark fruit, cocoa and toasted spice, slowly fading to velvety oak. A touch of sea salt lifts the tail, leaving a refined warmth that beckons another sip.
