This Single Cask Release from Ledaig was distilled in 1993 and matured for 28 years in a refill Sherry Butt. Sherry aromas give way to Medjool dates and sweet smoke. Stewed red berries combine with flavours of fresh ginger and almonds. A full finish with lingering spice and bonfire embers.

In present day we know Ledaig as the delightfully peaty expression from the Tobermory distillery. Originally however, the name of Ledaig was used for this Isle of Mull distillery when established in 1798 by John Sinclair. Meaning “Safe Haven” in Gaelic, the production of Ledaig and Tobermory Whisky is split 50/50. The character of Ledaig traditionally is sweet and oily with a heavy reek of earthy smoke. This bold, punchy peat monster can go toe to toe with the finest peated whiskies from Islay.
