Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a sun-warmed chestnut edge.

Nose

An assertive, soot-dusted bouquet: sooty five spice and boggy, earthy-iodine peat. Chili flakes on seaweed, and caramelised onions fried with curry powder lend savory sweetness. A meaty, tarry note lingers, hinting at depth beneath the coastal smoke.

Palate

Malty, sweet peat carries briny honey, with chilli flake heat and white pepper on seaweed. More iodine lingers as smoked ribs on a coastal BBQ mingle with five-spice, smoked toffee and sooty aniseed for a long, warming finish.

Finish

A saline, iodine-forward finish tempered by chilli flake and vanilla, earthy yet sweet, with lingering fish oils, black liquorice and a final wisp of peat smoke.
