The Lagavulin Distillers Edition 2020 features classic Islay notes of heavy peat. This is paired wonderfully with further maturation of the liquid in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, bringing rich, full bodied sweetness to the fore. On the nose there is the aforementioned medicinal peat, alongside tar, dark chocolate and red berries. Stewed and stoned fruits, almonds, bonfire smoke and toffee intermingle on the palate. More peat and smoke with a touch of red grape linger on the finish.

Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold glow and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Medicinal peat and tar mingle with dark chocolate and red berries, lifted by a subtle Pedro Ximénez sweetness from the cask—an elegant, smoke-kissed aroma with hints of fruit and ember.
Palate
Stewed and stone fruits mingle with almonds and toffee, carried by bonfire smoke across the palate. Rich peat drives the middle, deep and warming, with a touch of red grape lingering on the long, smoky finish.
Finish
Long, peaty and smoky, with more peat and smoke lingering and a subtle touch of red grape that persists.
