Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany undertones and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Intense coastal peat and medicinal smoke rise first, scented with iodine and sea spray, wrapped in a warm sherry sweetness. Dried fig and raisin fruits mingle with dark chocolate, toasted oak, and a whisper of leather and tobacco, finishing with polished spice and a lingering coastal echo.
Palate
Powerfully peated and elegant, this Lagavulin coats the palate with dense smoke and saline sea-tide. Rich sherry nuances emerge—dark fig, treacle, and cocoa—woven with mineral notes and iodine. At 52% ABV it feels warm and velvety, with a full-bodied mouthfeel and a long, smoky finish laced with leather, ash and brine.
Finish
Long, richly peated and maritime, the finish lingers with sea-salt, tar and a steady peat warmth. Sherry-dark fruit and cocoa weave through the palate, fading to velvety oak with a whisper of spice, then a resinous, ember-soft glow that persists.
