Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with copper-gold highlights and a subtle mahogany edge.
Nose
Kiln-smoked peat and sea spray dominate, edged with iodine and brine. Sherry-cask depth brings dark fruits—fig, prune, raisin—alongside cocoa and toasted wood, with a touch of leather. Spice and a maritime glow lift as the 54.5% warmth hints at the finish.
Palate
Thick peat smoke coils with maritime brine around a sherry-soft sweetness. Dried fig and plum meet dark chocolate and espresso; leather and spice add depth. The texture is luxurious and oily, finishing with smoke, sea salt and vanilla oak that lingers long.
Finish
Peat-soaked and maritime, the finish unfolds slowly with waves of smoke, sea salt, and ash. Rich hints of dark chocolate and dried fruit emerge, then a measured spice—pepper, clove—carrying the warmth long after the swallow. A refined, lingering echo of Lagavulin’s signature peat.
