This 20-year-old Kilchoman was bottled in 2026 as part of the first Family Casks edition and matured in ex-bourbon cask. Bottled at 49.9% ABV, it is a notably mature expression of the distillery’s Islay style, with the bourbon cask allowing the whisky’s peat, fruit and maritime character to develop with clarity over two decades.
At this age, the profile becomes more composed and layered, but it still feels true to Kilchoman. The smoke is softer and more integrated, the fruit feels deeper and more polished, and the oak adds structure without crowding the spirit. The result is a mature, refined Islay whisky with plenty of character, but also a real sense of balance and restraint.
