This 18-year-old Kilchoman was bottled in 2026 as part of the first Family Casks edition and matured in ex-bourbon cask. Bottled at 50% ABV, it offers a rarer look at Kilchoman with extended ageing in a cask type that lets the distillery’s spirit speak clearly. Rather than pushing the whisky in a heavier sherried direction, the bourbon cask keeps the profile brighter and more spirit-led.
That style suits long-aged Kilchoman particularly well. The peat becomes more integrated and refined, while the bourbon cask brings vanilla, citrus and orchard fruit to the fore. It makes for an elegant but still unmistakably Kilchoman bottling, with maritime smoke, fruit and oak all in very good balance.
