Jefferson's Grand Selection - Pichon Baron Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Out of stock
The first of two new cask finishes from this small batch Bourbon producer. This particular edition has seen a finishing period in Bordeaux red wine casks, in particular, Ch Pichon Baron, the second growth classified Pauillac wine.
The cask influence really comes out on the nose, as red cherry, berry and raspberry are at the fore. More subtle oak and spice are also present. The palate starts off much more traditional , lots of corn character, butter, honey, cinnamon and a lighter grainy note. The finish is chewy and full with with a touch of red wine tannin, red apples and more lingering sweet spice.
